First-party operational route

Two routes to a .RU trustee arrangement

If your .RU domain already sits at Atak Domain, the work starts inside the domain-management panel. If it sits somewhere else, two things are possible: the existing registrar processes the administrator change itself, or the domain transfers to Atak Domain first. What decides it is the administrator record as it stands today, not the one you would like it to say.

The practical start

Two different operations, constantly confused. A registrar transfer moves the domain from one registrar to another. It does not touch the administrator record, so the same person or company stays written into it afterwards. Replacing that party is a separate application with its own paperwork.

Administrator-change application

Both routes converge on a single document — the official administrator-change form, in Russian, published by Atak Domain. Before a notary sees it, confirm three things: which registrar will process the application, who the applicant is, and which trustee account the record moves to. The order matters more than it looks. Confirm first, notarise second, or you pay for a notary twice.

Requirements split by applicant type, because a company files different paperwork from an individual.

Which situation is yours?

One of these describes your domain. Not both. Which one it is decides whether you are simply filing an application, or arranging a registrar transfer before you can file it at all.

Already with Atak Domain

Start in the panel

Open the domain detail in the customer panel. Sitting with the contact information there is a notice about formal owner changes; read it before you touch anything. Add the trustee service to the order, then wait. Support opens a ticket listing the documents the application needs. The record itself changes only after that application has been accepted.

With another registrar

Ask before you move

Start with the record as it stands: status, administrator, expiry date. Then put one question to the current registrar. Can it process the administrator change itself, or does the domain have to come to Atak Domain first? Fees, documentation, eligibility and the order of operations all need confirming before anything begins.

After the record changes

Check what the administrator record actually says. Then put the working terms in writing:

  • who issues DNS instructions;
  • how renewals are funded;
  • how an eventual exit to an eligible administrator is handled.

A trustee relationship is a formal administrator arrangement. It runs on the contract and on registry rules, and on nothing else.
