.RU domain questions: registration, access and trustee

Russia. It is the country-code top-level domain, and the Coordination Center for TLD .RU/.РФ administers both it and the Cyrillic .РФ zone. The extension proves nothing about geography, though. A .RU address does not by itself show that the site, or the operator behind it, is located in Russia.
